A Life Well Lived

This past Friday, a young man we know named Sam passed away in a car accident. Sam’s brother and sister-in-law are very good friends of ours, as are his cousins. Yesterday there was a memorial service for Sam, during which this amazing video was shown of his testimony…I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch this video and that you will be inspired, as I am, to take a look at your own life and where you are at in your relationship with God, and challenged to “let your light shine”.

Get Out the Vote!

No, I’m not talking about the election you THINK I’m talking about. I’m talking about a much different election taking place this week — one that I want you to participate in!

My cousin Michael and his sweet wife, Cari, along with their 2 adorable children, are preparing to head to Brazil as missionaries early next year. Their goal is to open up a coffee-shop/English school to use as a tool for reaching people who desperately need Christ. A brilliant plan, if you ask me (even though I will miss them dearly!). They are in the process of raising support for this endeavor, and have a little contest going on their blog to help raise some funds. The deal is:

Michael has long hair, wants it long, and wants Cari to keep her hair long.

Cari has long hair, wants it shorter, and wants Michael to cut his, too.

So they are asking whoever would like to to vote — as many times as you wish — for who should get their way. Votes cost $5 apiece, the proceeds going towards sending them packing to Brazil, and voting will continue thru next Thursday. For more details, and to read more about their plans for Brazil, you can check out their blog.

And…not that I’m biased or anything, being a woman & all, but…go Cari!!!
